• 1648 - The Sir Robert Hitcham School is a charity school that was founded by Sir Robert Hitcham in 1648.
• 1818 - 50 attended, 20 were taught free
• 1870 - It has been on its present site since 1870.
• 1994 - The School was extended and remodelled.
• 1999 - Nursery Unit added.

The Debenham High School

The Debenham High school opened in 1964.  Church of England Comprehensive for pupils from 11 - 16.
